Club Limerick (Dublin) held their 2nd annual Hurling Championship preview lunch in Croke Park, Dublin on 20th May 2016.
The aim of the club is to connect with and unite all Limerick people in Dublin in support of Limerick GAA teams and indeed all things Limerick. Club Limerick (Dublin) incorporates the Limerick GAA Supporters Club (Dublin) and builds on the great work done by Limerick Associations in Dublin back to the 1920s.
After lunch came the hurling championship review with a great panel of hurling personalities including Donal O’Grady, recent captain of the Limerick hurling team.
The MC was Maria Crowe who managed a great discussion with Donal and Anthony Daly, Thomas Mulcahy, Nicky English and Richie Power. No surprises from the panel with Kilkenny, Tipperary and Clare being tipped as potential 2016 champions.
During the event the Limerick Person of the year for 2016 was awarded to Tim O’Connor for his great service to his native county Limerick and to Ireland during his long career in the Public Service. Read this Story.
A richly deserving recipient of the award in a historic centenary year for Ireland.
Club Limerick (Dublin) can be contacted by email through Ciaran Hayes, their secretary at hayesc@priority.ie
